Hepatic Artery and Portal Vein Variations using Contrast Enhanced Computed Tomography Abdominal Angiography

چکیده

Introduction: Normal hepatic vascular anatomy and its variants carry considerable importance during liver transplants, laparoscopic surgeries, penetrating abdominal trauma, radiological interventions. The occurrence of iatrogenic injury increases in case atypical variations. Aim: To determine the prevalence common artery portal vein by using Multidetector Computed Tomography (MDCT). Materials Methods: This is a hospital based retrospective study done Sri Mankula Vinayagar Medical College Hospital, Puducherry, India, between July 2019 2020. Contrast Enhanced (CECT) angiography 350 patients was taken for study. MDCT performed 16 slice PHILIPS MX16 CT scanner with intravenous administration non ionic iodinated contrast, having iodine content 300 mg/mL at dosage 1.5 mL/kg body weight, automated pressure injector rate 3.5 mL/sec. Arterial phase venous images were obtained 25 55 seconds respectively. anatomical types classified according to Michel's classification Covey AM et al., classification. Data entered EPI INFO version 7.2.1.0 analysed Statistical Package Social Sciences (SPSS) software 24.0. Results: Hepatic proper (right left arteries arising from artery) (Type I) seen 222 (63.4%) cases. most variant replaced Left Artery (LHA) gastric II) 46 (13.1%). A normal branching pattern 201 (57.4%) variation trifurcation 68 (19.4%). Conclusion: Knowledge about artery, vein, important interventions modality choice evaluating anatomy.

Coronary Artery Calcium Quantification in Contrast-enhanced Computed Tomography Angiography

Coronary arteries are the blood vessels supplying oxygen-rich blood to the heart muscles. Coronary artery calcium (CAC), which is the total amount of calcium deposited in these arteries, indicates the presence or the future risk of coronary artery diseases. Quantification of CAC is done by using computed tomography (CT) scan which uses attenuation of xray by different tissues in the body to gen...

Computed tomography angiography study of variations of the celiac trunk and hepatic artery in 100 patients

Objective To describe the main anatomical variations of the celiac trunk and the hepatic artery at their origins. Materials and Methods This was a prospective analysis of 100 consecutive computed tomography angiography studies of the abdomen performed during a one-year period. The findings were stratified according to classification systems devised by Sureka et al. and Michels. Results The ...

Quantifying coronary artery calcification from a contrast-enhanced cardiac computed tomography angiography study.

AIMS We sought to quantify coronary artery calcium (CAC) using a single contrast-enhanced cardiac computed tomography angiography (CCTA) study. CCTA has been successfully used for the assessment of coronary artery stenoses, whereas non-contrast ECG-gated computed tomography (Standard-CAC) is commonly performed to quantify CAC. Thus each scan individually contributes to the total radiation dose....
